Abstract

On behalf of BRIN, the Indonesian Space Agency, I wish to congratulate the Editorial Team of Acta Caeli et Astronautica, on the publishing of the journal first volume.

With the highly increasing usage of airspace, among others due to the use of drones for goods and human mobility, and of outer space, among others due to LEO mega-constellations, Air and Space Policy studies have become more important than ever. The change in the players, initially dominated by governments and now shifted to commercial entities, also opened new chapters of conflict, which need certainty of legal framework. Being the resources for strategic technology, such framework is always become object of high-level political intentions and interventions. Therefore, such study is very crucial to record the cause, the connections, and the impact of the policies, as the base to make better future policies.

We wish that Acta Caeli et Astronautica could become the ‘discussion room’ for Air and Space Policy

researchers, which can foster them to grow in academic and practical law and policy formulation.
