Foreword

It is a particular pleasure to contribute a foreword to the inaugural edition of Acta Caeli et Astronautica (ACeA). The effort to launch and maintain a journal is enormous and therefore we can only admire and congratulate Taufik Rachmat Nugraha for boldly taking that step and to successfully launch ACeA!
At a time, when aerospace has reached the position of a strategic policy area and industrial sector, it is imperative to lead an as broad as possible discourse on political, legal and regulatory issues in aerospace. This comprises security related, civilian as well as commercial aspects, which all will be covered by ACeA.
With this concept, ACeA positions itself as a promising new academic platform in the Asia-Pacific region, where particularly strong dynamics in aerospace are to be observed. The manifold policy and legal developments therefore call for open and thorough exchanges and discussions.
I wish ACeA to be successful in opening such exchanges on high academic level and through this contribute to peaceful international cooperation and the rule of law in air and outer space.
